Eugenio Granell Park

The Eugenio Granell Park is one of the largest green spaces in Santiago de Compostela. Due to its large dimensions, which reach 120,000 square meters, it borders both the Pontepedriña area and the neighborhoods of O Castiñeiriño, Conxo and the Ensanche itself.

This striking green enclosure isno doubt, one of the main lungs of the Galician capitalIt has numerous wooded areas, great connectivity and accessibility that facilitates and promotes walking along its different sections, with a multitude of services to enjoy a moment of relaxation with the family.

Inaugurated in 2003, the Eugenio Granell Park is dedicated to the memory of the musician, poet, writer, painter and sculptor of the same name, a multifaceted, multidisciplinary artist and one of the main figures of the Surrealism movement, closely linked to Santiago de Compostela.

Also known as O PaxonalAs it occupies the estate of the same name, the park has an extensive path that allows you to walk or cycle through the park and enjoy both its landscaped areas and the lush oak forest that runs along the course of the Sar River, which crosses the enclosure.

The Eugenio Granell Park offers an abundant ecological richness, with well-preserved tree species, shrubs and a great botanical variety that offers different shades of color and textures depending on the time of year.

As we mentioned before, in the deepest part of this area is the ‘Carballeira do Restollal’, away from the urban bustle and that connects with the park in the direction of the Conxo neighborhood.

This point stands out, especially, for the calmness that is transferred along its route, despite being located in the vicinity of very busy places such as Rúa do Restollal, Avenida de Lugo, the Provincial Hospital of Conxo or the Intermodal Station.

The area has abundant services. In fact, the entire green complex of the Eugenio Granell Park borders the large El Corte Inglés shopping center or the Boanergues Market, as well as having a 24-hour pharmacy nearby, kindergartens and all kinds of businesses.

The park itself is adapted for access by people with physical disabilities, has plenty of resting points and has a bio-healthy circuit with ten exercise machines placed in line next to the access walkway, at the entrance of the enclosure.
