On September 6, the Cidade da Cultura will once again become a great park of creativity and entertainment with the arrival of Ciudad Imaginaria, one of the most anticipated events of the Galician summer. This event, organized by the Xunta de Galicia as part of the campaign Para gustos, cultura, will celebrate its thirteenth edition with a full program designed for the whole family.
The day, of free access, will start at 5 p.m. and will last until 10 p.m., incorporating this year a special attraction: a closing at nightfall, with scenic lighting that will transform the environment of Gaiás into a unique visual spectacle.
More than 50 artists and 14 companies from Galicia, Italy, Guatemala, France, Portugal, Catalonia and Madrid will offer proposals as varied as circus acts, traveling troupes, interactive play areas, a circus school and the collective creation of an anti-pollution mural. The program also includes spaces designed for children, such as the sensory area for babies, reinforcing the inclusive and participatory approach of the festival.
In addition to having fun, the event seeks to transmit values such as environmental awareness, the importance of community work and emotional well-being from childhood, making it a cultural experience with an educational background.
Since its first edition in 2011, Ciudad Imaginaria has established itself as an essential summer event in Santiago de Compostela. After the break forced by the pandemic, it has returned stronger than ever, gathering every year thousands of people in a celebration that marks, in a festive way, the farewell of the vacations and the prelude to the new school year.
