The Group of World Heritage Cities, of which Santiago de Compostela is a member, has presented its tourism and heritage offer at the ILTM Asia Pacific fair, a leading event in the field of luxury travel in Asia. It took place from June 19 to 22 at the Marina Bay Sands Congress and Exhibition Center in Singapore.
The Group’s president and mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, stated that they are well aware of the current interest of the Asian market in their destinations. That is why they have traveled to promote the 15 cities that make up the association, which represent a hallmark of quality of the Spain brand.
This is the second time that the Group of World Heritage Cities participates in the fair, following its participation in ILTM Latin America last May. On this occasion, it has a prominent presence with its own stand within the Turespaña space.
The promotional action is part of the Tourism Action Plan, developed in collaboration with the Spanish Tourism Office in Singapore, within the annual agreement in collaboration with Turespaña. The opening ceremony was attended by the Spanish Ambassador to Singapore, Mercedes Alonso Frayle, and the Director of OTS, Monica Sanchez.
This fair, which takes place in an exclusively professional format, offers an agenda of previously scheduled meetings between suppliers and operators selected by the organization, in order to guarantee the quality of the meetings.
The Asia Pacific contains a growing population of travelers and encompasses a wide variety of cultures and countries, making it an important focus for luxury tourism. Therefore, being present at ILTM Asia Pacific is a relevant event for the cities of the association.
