Fillas de Cassandra will offer a free concert aimed at youth in Compostela

The duo Fillas de Cassandra will give a concert on November 7 at the Sala Capitol in Santiago de Compostela, in an event aimed especially at young people. Admission will be free for people between 18 and 30 years old, or minors from 16 to 18, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

This performance is part of an initiative funded by the participatory budgets of the area of Mocidade of the Concello de Santiago, in which more than 800 chose several initiatives to carry out throughout the year. The second most supported proposal was, precisely, to organize a concert with a relevant band of the current Galician music scene.

María Rozas, councilor of Social Rights, Economic Promotion and Youth, stressed that the choice of Fillas de Cassandra responds to “their unstoppable trajectory, and also to their feminist messages and promotion of Galician among the youth, at a time when we are so concerned about the future of our language”.

Sara Faro, member of Fillas de Cassandra, expressed her excitement for being part of this proposal, stressed the importance of giving a voice to young people and expressed her wish that all attendees “leave the Capitol with more desire to participate, and with more desire to speak Galician”.

Requirements to obtain a ticket

Tickets for the concert can be collected between November 5 and 6 at the Centro Sociocultural del Ensanche, located in an accessible area frequented by young people. Each person will be able to collect an invitation and to access it will be necessary to prove that they live, work or study in Santiago.

The event, which will begin at 9 p.m., will be preceded by a performance by Boa Sunnet, one of the resident bands at the rehearsal rooms of the Centro Xove da Almáciga.
